Our Idaho Adventure and More

This past Monday, I finally painted the little benches I've been collecting for the porch.

I also got the shipment of sunglasses that I am going to be shipping out for Spencer's kick starter campaign, and got started on that.

Spencer has set up our computer so that he can operate it from Korea ... and print the mailing labels.  I talked to him on the phone while he was setting it up, and then watched the monitor as he controlled it, making up labels.  It was sort of freaky to feel so connected to someone on the other side of the planet.  But it was definitely good freaky, we miss those guys!

On Tuesday I put together a bunch of stuff that I will be  selling at the Reclaimologist boutique in Spanish in November, because the head of our group wants them for advertising ...

Dad had his normal temple shift that day, so I was on my own in the evening.

Wednesday was an interesting day.   I had given away my afternoon at work, so that I could get home to make dinner for the missionaries.  Dad had taken my car, as he has to take the huge gondola movers to Logan to move the isles around.  That meant I had Spencer's car, formerly Ben's car, with its ignition issues.  Actually its fine as long as you leave the key in the ignition.  Unfortunately, when I went to the post office to mail the shipment of sunglasses, I turned off the key as normal, and automatically removed it.  YIKES!  after 200 tries, no success ... I called Steve Kew, who I know leaves for work about the same time I do, and he came by and dropped me off work on his way.  Then the girl who came in to work for me, had her boyfriend take me home ... I had him drop me at Payson Market to get the rest of the stuff for dinner.

We had Navajo tacos, the missionaries were awesome.  The tall one is from Washington and comes from a family of ten, 6 girls and 4 boys, just like us.  The other Elder is from Brazil and is an only child, both amazing young men with strong testimonies.

After dinner I boxed up the extra food I had made to take to a family in our new ward who just had a new baby.  It was fun to meet their grandmother, and hear about this family who lives in the other part of the ward, that we will eventually get to know.

At work on Thursday Andy and Candace, who are AndyCandyLoveHouse on Instagram, came in and bought this huge framed tapastry.  They redo/flip old houses ... and just bought the old fancy house in Payson, that Becca sent me info on a few months ago.  They are going to let me come and take before pics sometime this week.  So excited!!

That night, after work, I raced to draper for the Spooky Spark Soiree ... its sort of like Homemaking used to be, back in the day ... making fun crafts and getting to know people.

It was hosted by a gal who lives in a big house above the temple in Draper.  She's a travel agent, and there were over 50 women there doing various crafts.

I had planned to go with Andrea, before I was unable to get off early..  She decorated this top hat, and I made the party hat.  Good times!!  The lady's house was amazing!  Loved it!

Then early Friday morning Dad and I headed north.  First we stopped at my favorite Church Rummage Sale in Salt Lake, for the Wesley Bell Ringers' fund raiser.

Then we got to Britt's house is Boise in time for Brittany and me to hit the Rust and Roses preview at the Idaho Fair Grounds.

It was a great show, and Nikki and I were considered going their to sell next year, I was on assignment to check it out.  But after seeing how light the traffic was, and how low the prices were, I've decided its not a good place to sell, but its an awesome place to shop.
Even Britt found this chair to add to her study.  Trust her to find something modern at an antique show.

I ran into a LOT of Utah people there... including the gal next to me with the pumpkin beer, who I do not know ... Most of these folks are dealers, and several have been dealers at Treasures and seven of them have been fleaology dealers at one time or another. I later ran into even more Utahans ... so funny.

These shoes that were in Brenda's booth (Just a Bed of Roses) are some she bought from me at the first Acorn Antique show I did in  Ogden, many years ago.  I didn't even know her then ... kind of strange.
On Saturday, Dad went back to the show with me.  I didn't spend as much, and it was a much quicker run through than the two hours Brittany shared with me .... then we hit a couple of antique stores and some second hand stores too.
Here is Charly sitting in the chair at home, along with the burlap coffee bag pillow that her mom also got from the show.

Besides the show, we managed to watch 5 movies while in Idaho, including the new Godzilla in Mike's new man cave.  Britt got the amazing entertainment center, (shown below), but had to get a new disc player as their other one didn't fit, so Mike took the oversized DVD player,  got a big screen, took his surround sound speakers, and set up a man cave in the garage, complete with comfy couch, and a small fridge.  The boys invited us to come see the 'theater', and I got hooked on the movie ... no really I did.

So Movies we saw in Idaho this weekend are, Godzilla, Blended, the new Wolverine, XMen; Days of Future Past and The Love Punch (for which Dad and I are the target audience, with Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan, about a older divorced couple who ... ) ... so the action flicks out numbered the romantic comedies ... definitely not a girls' trip, but fun to share with our grand boys!

Besides great shopping and fun movies, we also had great food.  Britt made us pulled pork, rice and veggies the first night, and the second night she made us chicken curry!!  It was like eating in a restaurant both nights.  She's an awesome cook!

On Sunday Dad and I went to sacrament meeting at the local ward, and came home for visiting and the last movie before heading out about 3 for home.  Alex came out and drove his sister up and down the side walk as we were loading up.  It was a great trip, and we will be headed back up that way in October and November ...  October for the BYU game and then November for the next Hunger Games movie.

Thanks Britt for a great weekend, and for all the adorable grandkiddo hugs we collected!!
