Monday: Scott spent the day at girl's camp as the priesthood leader.

Tuesday: Sam went in for his long awaited back surgery, and come out of anesthesia speaking Spanish.

Tuesday: We went Kayaking with Barb and Randy.

Tuesday: We finally get to Abigail's bakery.

Wednesday: Dad and Darby met up with Kimmy for Lunch and got to see her new car too.

Ashley with her summer pursuits.

Wednesday and Friday: Dad worked at Darby's
Wednesday: I am trying to get more protein, and made this tofu scramble.  After breakfast I went to the Payson temple for my first endowment session in ten months, as I attended along with my friend Lillian as she got her endowments.

Eva made her first solo sushi, and sent me this picture.  I am so impressed.

Wednesday: After the temple I went to Treasures to put out new merchandise. I put out a favorite tea time book, this is my fourth to sell.  Always a sure thing.

Thursday: Do you recognize the black shelf full of mugs?

Thursday: After work I went to Ann's house for bookclub.

Friday: Ann had mentioned this hike with friends at book club and invited me to come along.  Her friend in White, Kathy had also invited a friend.  It turned out that her friend, Bonnie, in pink, is a long time friend since we moved to Payson and she and I served in Young Women together.

Ann and I about halfway up the mountain.  The hike was moderately difficult and a total of 2 and a half miles total.

At one of the twin lakes, beneath the twin peaks.

and we are done@

Also Saturday: Here we meet up with Elder Staggs and Sister Anderson.

Elder Brett Andersen and his Bride, Samantha.

Here we see Elder Jimenez sporting his post mission look!

Sam with Brett's father, and Brett with his mother.

We loved it when Trevor and Nell joined us.  Brett grew up in their first PG ward, and Trevor was his scout master.

Saturday:  We did a thing.

I walked it with Eileen and Ann

Dad ran into former Elder Werner from his first mission

Another Finland connect, Sister Keely Watts, and her mom Tina who was Dad's Finnish tutor between missions.

Here we are with Lillian, who finished the race and walked back to join us as we completed it.

It takes all kinds to participate in a pioneer day 'race'.

Still Saturday: We hooked up with Becca and Brady et al in Spanish for fireworks.

Sunday: We managed to 'attend' two homecomins, Elder Larson's, center above, in person in Lehi, and Sister Oliver's via Zoom, as we drove home to attend our own preisthood and relief society meetings.

Back to the Future and Back Again

We'll start this week by dipping back into last week, with a picture of Becca and Brady's kids at their city days' carnival ... aren't they cute, back from Disneyland, then to a local carnival, then into their future at Disneyworld.  These kids are are having too much fun this summer!

and speaking of the future, I saw this picture of a former Finnish Missionary in a video and thought how much she reminded me of someone I know, not just looks but mannerisms, then I realized I was having a peek of Abigail as an adult.
On Monday I got to go DI shopping with my friend Tina, we both managed to fill a cart, and then had fun fitting all that into the car.

and we made it ...

We stopped for lunch at Cubby's in Spanish, but we were a few hours too early to get to see Ian.  If only we'd had a time machine.

Tina's 8 year old granddaughter was pretty excited about the little school chairs.

Meanwhile at home Dad was installing the former dining room fireplace mantel in the large guest room.  It looks great!

After dropping Tina off, I headed to the antique mall where I worked on clearing out what has for years been the store's odds and ends booth.  By clearing it out, it became available for me to rent.  I have been taking in a lot of stuff since returning home, and it was time for this step.  I spent the rest of the day working there, and got most of the smalls out of it, and moved to another smaller booth at the North Store.

On Tuesday we both had dentist appointments, then we went over to the mall, where Dad moved a few large and heavy displays, before he headed home to work on projects.  I spent the rest of the day cleaning up and pricing items I had brought.

When I was done, Dad came back and got me and we went to the Feast Buffet in Orem again, I love all the veggies on the Mongolian BBQ, and of course there's the sushi.

I loved seeing this wreath on insta that day ....

Then on Wednesday my friend Shirley came into the store, and she is the one who made the fun National Parks wreath.  Now I am looking forward to making a similar wreath with Ann Shumway, so if anyone else is interested in joining us, sometime in September, let me know.

Also that day, this guy came in, who is one of the founders of Sodalicious.  He said that this nice framed photo of downtown Provo included the office building where he worked from, and even pointed out the windows that belonged to his office.  That was fun.  This nice framed print was $15, he said he was going to put it in his new office.

Dad and Darby decided to go to Market Street Grill, hoping to find Kim there.  How fun is this?

On Thursday Dad and I both headed to the antique mall so that I could install the dollhouse in a place of honor in the new booth.  Yeah, I'm glad that moving it is over, wow that thing is heavy. Then I stayed to dust it, and move in some furniture, and Dad headed back to Payson so that he could do his shift at the Temple.

On Friday Dad needed to head back to work at Darby's, and I went along to junk, because we had a dinner appointment in Salt Lake later in the day. After a morning at DI I went to a few shops there in town, which was fun.  I thought this display at The Old Flamingo, could have been done by me.

I got back to Darby's in time to get a picture of her with her Dad.

Here is Dad's collage of his work for the week.

We met Barb and Randy at Stone Ground Italian Kitchen where Kylie was to do a food critic's review for Female Foodies.

It was super fun, and the food was good.

Isn't Kylie just the cutest?

I loved this post on Instagram .... before going to Finland I'm afraid I was guilty of this thinking myself.

On Saturday we ended up going back to Salt Lake as Dad had a Barbershop practice in the morning, and we had a dinner appointment there with Joyce in the evening.  I of course spent another day junking, including some garaging.  I picked Dad up after his practice and took him to Darby's to get in another couple of hours.  Then there was Matthew Mason's wedding via Zoom.  We had dinner with Joyce at the Paradise Buffet, so we got to have sushi again.  Yeah!

I was wearing such bright colors to church this morning, that when I saw my friend Andrea decked out in even more color, I asked for a picture together.  Its so good to get to be at church, and see old friends.

We had invited the Kews to join us for dinner, so I finally got to have a patriotic table setting, I mean, it is still July.

It was fun to catch up a little, and hear their plans about moving to Maryland in about a year.  They recently went back and stayed in their newly purchased home there, as they got ready for the one year lease being taken up by a young couple from here who are going to school at Hopkins.  It was fun to see pictures of the house, and while I was scrolling I ran into these two old pictures of Steve, both taken before Terry met him. Talk about a time machine.

And speaking of looking back, we got to 'attend' one of  our bi-monthly firesides with the Aura missionaries, which we always enjoy.

So Dad found this picture captioned something like, Marty and Doc Brown make it back to the future in 2021.  And yes, so much of what we blog about is the past, the present and projections of plans that take us into the future as well.

We hope and pray that your future will be joyful.
