Capuring our Week in Captions

Here's the crew that ran the Payson Onion Days 5K, Dad won first place in his division, woot, woot!
Celebrating late august birthdays (and one July) with a waffle cake at the Payson Onion Days Parade and breakfast event!

Parade goers enjoy the sidelines.

Enjoying Dad's homemade rootbeer with a 'shot contest'!
Our favorite photobomber strikes again.

Zach's two favorite things about the parade are the 'princesses and the fire trucks!"

Two members of Paula's email loop, which was formed in 1995, meet Luanne, far left, for the first time at Crown Burger in SLC. (Luanne was in town for a work conference, Paula and Scott met her in 2003ish while tripping with the Kews in New England)
Grandpa and Scott, after the wedding, waiting for temple square photo ops with Zach and his new bride.

Grandpa and Dad walk all over Salt Lake that day to lunch, to a movie, to the reception center, and even squeezed onto Trax ... what a trooper that Grandpa is.
Brittany joins us at the reception at the Devereaux Mansion, on their way to California!

We all meet at Fridays  afterward to be served by Ashley.

When Ashley comes up behind Eva to get her order, and calls her by name, Eva says "How do you know my name?"
Ashley's boys and Kim drop by on their way home from an evening at Boondocks, and Andy brings Ashley flowers!  How romantic.

Early Saturday morning finds Paula at Treasures, where she runs into her friend LaVern at the big treasures flea market.

Paula then picks up assorted grand kids and their friends and heads to Lagoon.

After which Dad keeps watch over the grands, while Paula runs to a family reunion in Bountiful at the old family home.

Dad and the grands leave for home after heavy rains start closing the rides down ... meanwhile, Paula visits with her siblings Ross, Bruce, Doug and Emory, as well as with her sisters-in-law.

Sunday is picture free with Dad doing inventories between meetings, and Paula doing a talk* twice in our Stake's Nursing Home Branch's two care facilities.

*I told the peaches in a tomato can story from my Mom's first book and everyone loved it.

  1. BTW, Grandpa got pretty teary at the sealing. We were wondering if maybe he saw Grandma Connie there. It was pretty sweet.

  2. I just love living your lives vicariously! How do you fit it all in?
It is pretty cool that Grandpa can physically get around so well. He even won a race!

(just kidding...I rally did mean Scott's Dad at first...then I thought of the race! Scott is a Grandpa too!--He gets around really good!)

I assume a waffle cake is frosting on a pile of waffles (do you frost between them?)

Poor Ashley! What a group to have to serve! Hope you tipped well! (I KNOW Scott did since he tips non-family well!)

    See you on Friday!
