From NYC to Cornwall

So our week started out with a visit to this cute little bear boy.  Dad spent the day at his new house, framing in a closet and other things.
That night we met up with Steve and Wendy to see The Pirate of Penzance, for our first time.  It was at Skyridge High School in Lehi.

I loved the police women … so fun and especially …
The police chief … he was hilarious.

On Tuesday we took one of Dad's ministering sisters to the $5 Tuesday theater in Spanish.  Here's Dad with his doppelganger, too bad he wasn't wearing his red bow tie with white dots.
We saw Isn't it Romantic … which may or may not have been a waste of time.  Not recommended, but I did like seeing NYC with flowers everywhere.

I was off to work on Wednesday, while Dad headed to SLC to work on Spencer and Brit's condo some more.  That night, he went to his Barbershop practice, while I went to Mutual.  Where we played 'A Minute to Win It'

Transporting cotton balls with Vaseline on your nose ...
Sliding Oreo's down your face for a snack. (This is Aaron Jaussi, a member of our bishopric)

Finding tic tacs in whipped cream with your face ...

Flipping a spoon into a cup, Bonnie caught my first flip.  Whoa!!

I was back to work again on Thursday, and tried to sell a gal on this hat that perfectly matched the vintage dress she was buying.

Having bought a brown transferware set and a red transferware set in the last month, I decided to bring all my transferware together, and I like it!
a fun side note is that that morning, I was spray painting and it was a bit windy.  Yep, look how stylin' it makes me … fortunately it washed out that night, I just didn't have time to do it before work.

On Friday we were back in SLC, Spencer was working from home, as he waited for the flooring to be delivered.  Dad worked at the house, while I went junking again.

We got back in time to go to see Green Book with the Kews in Payson … and now we have our own IHOP so we don't even have to go to Springville for late meals.

On Saturday Dad headed to SLC to help Darby put up some more horse panels, then he went back to the condo to help Trevor, Becca and Spencer laying some flooring.  I stayed home and did some house work, I know its hard to believe.  I may or may not have snuck in some reading as well.

We met up in Lehi for some Teppanyaki, which included sushi for the two of us. We appreciated the Heuers for expanding their plans to include us.

Afterwards we went to see Newsies at the Hale in Orem.

Aren't we cute? We love these people.

On Sunday we were able to attend our ward before heading to Riverton for Sister Hoosier's homecoming.  Here are the Finnish missionaries who joined us to celebrate.

If you remember, from our mission, the time we went to help some sisters put together Ikea furniture in the dark for an investigator, these are the Sisters.  Sister Hoosier is in the white.

One funny thing is that Aaron Jaussi's parents live in this ward, so we got to meet his mom, and I showed her the Oreo eating picture.  Also Nancy Webster, who lived in our Cottonwood Heights ward, back in the day, now lives in this ward and we got to catch up with her, which was so fun.

The church was just around the corner from Darby's so we stopped by hoping for a visit … but Darby and Dallas were on their way to Wendover … so we took a picture of the new panels and headed to …
See Dad's cousin Marva who is in an assisted living place in West Valley.  This is a picture of their common ancestor. We had a nice visit and tried to help her fix an issue on her Kindle.  Thanks for your help Robin et al.

Next we stopped at Spencer and Brit's place to heat up our dinner, that we had brought along.  We got to see all the flooring that Spencer stayed up late Saturday working on his own after his helpers left.
Such a cute family, even if we couldn't get Bear to 'look'.

Then we were on our way to Bountiful to Sister Wade's 80th birthday  Wow!  Here we are visiting with Jared and Kati-Susanna Cohen, who we made friends with while in Finland.  She's a Finn, and he's the American who came for a visit and sent HUGE packages to the Mission Office that we later delivered, if you recall from our mission letters.  Such a lovely couple.

This is the pic they took of us.

Dad chatting it up with former missionaries.

Us with the octogenarian.

I guess we converted Darby to the true wall color.

So that was our week of fun and entertainment, 3 of the 4 movies and plays were set in NYC, the other play, and the book I am currently reading were set on the Cornwall Coast.
