Another great week which included travel, visiting family and junking. While at Emily's she fixed both Dad's and my phones to alternate our screen savers every hour. This one from Hannukah at Brittany's popped up on Dad's phone, one of my favorites. It's been so fun share these obscure and random pictures of people we love.
On the other hand, loading pics for the blog lately gets more and more annoying. Not sure why the pictures have been posting backwards, but I am just going to go with it.
Today we found on Facebook that Janet Brough has passed away, after suffering from Parkinsons for 10 years. Here she is with her daughter Amy and her husband. Janet has been living with Esther of late in Tooele.
Her son Eldon, the youngest of the 8, posted this picture of her reading to her family last week.
Another event today, was when I was showing crafts I've been doing with friends to Abby, she saw this post on my friend Shirley's Insta account, she laughed and sang the song. She called in Bekie and William to sing it with us.
It was a fun moment.
Dad took the older boys to the new Minecraft movie on Saturday, While I
Friday Night, we met up with Aubrey Jackson, nee Jensen from our second mission with her husband, who is from Tooele. She is teaching Junior High math in a neighboring school.
Here is Johnny looking handsome.
On Wednesday Dad and Emily took Johnny to the Public Library where they saw a giant dinosaur skeleton, while I was looking at things that were not quite so Jurassic, at a local antique store.
Johnny tries his best to climb the huge sculpture. The building was formerly a missel factory, and the site had been duly reinforced for the extra weight, which made it perfect to be a library which has similar support requirements.
Dad liked a couple of old houses, especially this one with fabulous fret work on the porch. Of course, we're both suckers for stick and ball.
This one was nice too, and was on the market ...
Guess who this sign made us think of.
Here's a shot of us with a big old rock on our first day out.
Before leaving on Monday, Dad got this shot of the Turkey Buzzards who were back, unfortunately. We've seen a lot of their cousins here in Texas.
As our visit was between Abby and William's birthdays, Emily decided we should have cake and ice-cream while we are here. This is William's decorations.
I guess Abby's is decorated like the big rock candy mountain.
such cute kids.
Here are Bekie and William doing pages during conference.
It was fun to see President Eyring conducting.
Benny's conference activities.
William's conference activities.
Bekie is making a Godzilla for her little brother while she listens.
Papa and Abby listening to conference.
Mimi watching conference in Julie's Vaan Gogh Iris shirt.
We were both surprised to hear of the church building a temple in Spanish Fork. It will be fun to see it go up.
Here's a random shot of a Filipino family in 1912, the dad is holding his wife and all 6 kids too. I admit his wife looks a bit embarrassed.
We loved this blast from the past as Emily wears her old Macey's apron.
Gathering for a delicious conference breakfast.
Abbie shares some crafts she made.
William made a Greek ship out of legos ...
while Johny snuggles with Papa.
Out junking with the girls on Saturday I got them to fill out this bench at the local library.
Johnny helps his Mom with the beater.
He was adorable in the puddles after lots of rain in the middle of the week.
How cute is the blue boy in the blue bag?
The kids were watching a dinosaur series, that have dinosaurs that have come from the past. This is the scientist grandpa of the kids in the show, who was responsible for bringing them to modern times. I think he looks like Brigham Young. What do you think?
Brigham Young Dino Hunter!
Here's the show.
So fun to get to see this guy, he's changed so much since we saw last June.
Ready for school on a rainy day.
Big Sister.
with new shoes. Wicked shoes in fact.
Sam is off to school too.
I loved this picture for Easter this week.
While at the Antique Mall on Wednesday I saw three of these green bowls I correct, but all were above my cap price of 50, at $59, $69 and $75. I was pretty proud of myself for holding the line.
I thought these were about the most interesting corbels I've seen.
I thought this booth was super cute.
Here's Dad just home from running, and doing his stretches, Johnny came to help him hold up the wall, and the rest of the kids joined in as well.
Another picture from our first day of driving.
and our spaghetti eating man.
William, Bekie and Abby are all play the Gods of Olympus, but William is much more engaged, and he is now on level 70.
Here are some pictures of the Summers' family picking up the Carolinas for their 50 states travel plan.
I want to hear this story,
Loving Buccees at the beach.
... and Myrtle Beach.
Back in Savoy, how nice are the firefighters here, this cute one is sweeping up the wood curls from Papa using the plane on the side of a too tight door.
It's been a great week, with a mix of site seeing, movies, junking and family time. With Sam's new diet Emily has been on point with feeding her vegetarian parents without too much effort, we hope. She also deals with gluten and dairy allergies and does an amazing job. It's a good thing she always liked to cook, and its probably nice that her Papa has taken over the dishes for a while.
Trevor and his family took the weekend to visit Arches National Monument.
Trevor giving us a little case of acrophobia...
Here is Trevor standing in the middle of a long (and not so windy road).
