Please Pass the Baby

Monday was the day of our Manti temple tour.  I'd been looking forward to it for a long time and it did not disappoint.
It had snowed and the weather with the wind chill and the sun going in and out of clouds seemed to vary about 40 degrees.  we were too hot, then we were freezing.  We finally got our heavy winter coats from the car ... glad we thought to bring them for the hour and a half wait.

Dad saw Rey Nesselge who he worked with at the AFS office.

We also ran into one of our missionaries, Steve Bartholomew. We also saw Rick London, who we served with in Finland, pass by, but Dad was unable to catch his attention.

No pictures inside of course, but the murals were amazing, and the assembly room upstairs, that we would not normally see, was a sight to behold. We were inside for almost an hour.

Afterwards we drove up to see the temple being built in Ephraim.

Here it is.

It was Darby's 45th birthday.

This is an earlier birthday of hers with Grandma Connie.

We met Darby to celebrate at a place called Little India in American Fork that was very good.

After dinner we headed to Brookers Founding Flavors in Vineyard for dessert. The icecream names are after various famous early Americans, and the best part is the workers in period costume.

And who could miss a chance to put Darby in stocks?  Not us evidently.

I worked on Tuesday and Dad went to a retirement party in Salt Lake. The guy in green is Scott Devereau, who worked for Associated for 50 years.

Travis Bowman, Dad, Byron Goodwin and David Rice.

Afterwards Dad went to hold Parks.

 Because who could resist this.

At some time during the week, Mac had a turn to hold him too.

Also his sisters and others worked on filling the eggs for Becca and Brady's realty club party to be held on Friday. There were 6,000 in all.

Later the whole family headed out for spring break to check off some states on their life lists. Here we see Brady in Brady, Nebraska.

Picked up a couple of cute pics from Brittney's facebook page ... such a cute, cute family.

I think these kiddos are pretty fond of their little brother.

On Tuesday, before heading to a day of work at the antique mall, I decided to pull out some decor.  I mean if I'd be decorating for springfest brunch, I might as well enjoy the bunnies all week.

I thought they were pretty cute ...

These tiny chicks were perfect for this wee shelf.

Then it was off to work.  I hauled in some of the drawers I brought home after Darby's kitchen remodel.  The three of these were perfect for house larger vignettes.   I'm changing my rarely selling men's booth for a sewing booth.  I hauled out a lot of the items show here to put outside, if they were metal, or to take home to sell at fleaology.

Wednesday dawned to the east of us with William's birthday.  It's hard to believe he is 11.

I happened to be off on Wednesday, because of a trade another dealer needed, so we were able to go to Art and Soup Charity event in Salt Lake .... I've heard of it for years, but this year we made our foray.  This is an ice sculpture.

How fancy is this butternut squash soup ... the presentation of many of them were charming.  And almost all the soups were vegetarian.

I thought this one was gorgeous as well. It was my favorite.

The name of this painting by Kimbal Warren is called The Bachelors, and shows several well racked elk. I loved it, just not $6000 dollars worth.

This booth was serving a creamed carrot soup, that was garnished with deep fried carrot peelings. The line was 20 people long, but I thought this focaccia bread was adorable, and this gal was the maker.

These are the four pieces of art we brought home, 3 paintings and a print.  I framed three of the four when I got home.
Here they are.   She is a painting with decoupaged details, including her necklace, hair decor and the bees.

This is a garden done by an older man, I thought it would be perfect for my garden paintings that are inside the French door dormer in our bedroom.

This is a print by Kristin Tie, I framed it at home.

and this is a mushroom painting I got and framed at home too.

Its now in the 2nd floor hall with this mushroom painting, that I had yet to frame, that I bought last summer at fleaology.

Afterwards we stopped by the soon to be Macey's on 9400 S, where Dad ran into Guy Howe, who he worked with at ARS back in the day.

I got a blast from the past too, when I worked on Thursday and Becca and Brady's good friend, Ben Jones came in, he actually did the floor in the garret here.

At work on Thursday I finished clearing all but one self of guy stuff, replacing it with fabrics and notions. Still more to do...
Here's a couple of landmarks Britt and Mike's kids are making.  Kai on the trail and

Charley at the beauty parlor, as she donates her long hair to Locks of Love.

I'm sure that if they lived in Utah, there would be one of Alex holding Parks.

Here's the Hobbit branch of the family ....
And more fun with Trevor and Nell and friends, down under.

On Friday I worked at the antique mall again, while Dad went shopping for our brunch and hunt the next day. He loaded almost 100 eggs.

Dad picked me up after work and we headed to Saratoga Springs for a Hallmark movie night with the Mohokins.  Thats always fun.

We awoke early Saturday to start the Ham and get the orange rolls rising, and at noon they came. We were grateful to have 3 of our children there, Darby, Trevor and Spencer, along with four kids, 3 egg hunters, 2 daughters-in-law, an egg hider and a baby to hold.

Here is Eleanor ready for the task at hand.

 Let the fun begin ...

What a perfect little pass around pack, we had to share ...

Cutest picture ever, sucking his thumb. Thanks for this one Nell.

and we all held the cute little bunny boy by turns.

Some had more than one turn.

Then its hunt time.

The elf village was packed with the goods.

I could not imagine that Eleanor could reach that high.

Look who saw it.

... look who helped.

Eleanor had stepped up onto one of the roots that go into the tree to do it.

How happy is this boy!

All the Dads.

 Van can fly.

Nell can snuggle.

Father and daughter.

 Her eggs match my socks.

Trevor took the kids out to wear them out for the ride home.

Then there was the mandatory duplo play.

And they're all ready to go. We so appreciated them being able to come.

That night we went to the Payson Community Theater's presentation of Charley's Aunt, a favorite play of ours.

The guy that played Charley's  Aunt was soooo funny .... he was amazing.

Carissa and Perry Ewell's daughter played one of the boy's love interests, opposite her husband.

We had a quiet Easter, running back to Saratoga to hear Barb give her Easter talk. It was so worth it.

I thought I would share this lovely spring like resurrection morning painting I ran across on IG this week. We hope your Easter celebrations were lovely, and that you had an opportunity to share with family.

And now for a little comic relief ... when I moved the Mexican Nativity angel, who is missing her right hand into the cabinet in the parlor, I noticed that she sort of matched the Renaissance princess who shares this malady. Then I thought, its good I don't have three, or it would be a collection ... then I noticed my wooden angel in her new place in the entry as I headed up the stairs ... hahaha. And no, please don't break the right hand off random stuff and give it to me ...
