As you know we are coming to the end of another year. I thought I'd add my nine most seen IG posts. 1. a Valentines Display at the Store, 2. My craft group making Easter Nichos, 3. Buying a piece of art at the Draper Art in Parks. 4. Showing off my display of Musselmalet dishes 5. Titan's Murder Mystery Party, 6. The Spring City Memorial Day Weekend Historic House tours, 7. My Jane Austen 250th birthday party, 8. Another Craft Group get together, and 9. is a Valentines display at our house.
Another interesting thing, I thought, was when I saw an article showing all the actors who had played in Love Actually AND a Jane Austen adaptation. I readily recognized them all, except this gal. Nancy who is the caterer that does the awful food in LA, and who plays Ann Eliot's older sister in one of the Persuasion adaptations. I still can't tell they are the same person.
And that day, Trevor and Nell took Scott to see basketball game between BYU and Scott's current school, Eastern Washington.
Then finishing up my Christmas shopping, I ran into an old friend.
Tuesday was Bri's birthday, and this is the collage Dad made to help her celebrate.
Then my friend Shirley came by to bring me a present. How sweet is she. She missed my Austen Party, and just got back from a trip to Germany.
I set up the table then for a dinner we were hosting for the Stake Presidency. Nell and the girls had brought me this poinsettia, and Nadine gave me this piece of poinsettia fabric. Since I had bought some poinsettia napkin rings it all just fell together.
And here they all are. We did our Finnish menu, because everyone always seems to like it. (crackers, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. charcuterie, followed by salad, then salmon soup and finishing up with a dessert that one of the guests brings in this case it was Cheryl Phillips.)
Up early on Wednesday to get the carriage house set up for our Bethlehem dinner that night.
I got off at 4 so I got home in time to finish up the details, then everyone came and started filling the wooden vessels. Note in the middle of this table display a plate full of Piirakkas that Brady made. Isn't he just the best? He made egg butter too.
Lots of olives, bread, grapes, new wine (grape juice) and a fatted calf roast.
Here we are at the table.
Meet Mary
I'd laid out our costumes and about half of us chose to dress up.
What a cutie.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal, I liked it when Spencer entwined the political issues of Mary and Joseph day with those of ours. It was pretty creative.
After dinner we moved into the parlor to do the nativity.
Here we are, all ready to begin, is Adi's side glance sooo cute.
Trevor played while we sang Silent Night.
Then Papa read the nativity story from the scriptures, here are Mary and Joseph
And an AI version.
The wisemen come.
With gifts.
Here are two shepherds, where's Davin
Our angel, she was very serious about her role, but then she is an actress.
Then there was the gift exchange.
Thank you Brady, you're the best.
Then Trevor played the Hannukah song.
And the kids played with the dreidel under the direction of their cousin J. Scott, who is a wonderful teacher, and a fun cousin to boot.
I wasn't sure the poinsettia cloth was just right, so once again I "AIed" it.
The rest of us hung out for a bit longer.
These girls had fun breaking bubble wrap bubbles.
When we went up to our room that night we found out that Santa had come early. Our socks were stuffed and laying on our bed. It actually turned out that it was not Santa at all, but three little fairies named Brittany, Emily and Becca ... of course Becca and Reagan were the worker fairies.
On Christmas morning, everyone came again, except Becca's family, who were busy getting acquainted with their new fixer upper cabin, but we did get Dallas for brunch
giddyup
It was fun to have Dallas join us.
It was fun to witness this ... Cam showed up that morning dressed as a unicorn, while Van was wearing a shark costume. If you'll notice the shark arm is around her lower legs in the first pictures and so on... it reminded me of the Shell Silverstein poem. "I'm being eaten by a Boa constrictor." So Cute.
After all the festivities of Christmas, we all got back to real life. Here we see that Sam finished up making this ramp for his Dad who can no longer do stairs.
My Christmas present from Dad came, and Dad got it put right on. I thought the turquoise and orange license plate that we had, clashed with the red. But I think this looks great.
While I was at work Dad hung the cute mushroom picture that Trevor and Nell had given me.
Dad also made up this AI picture of us in Christmas garb. I thought that was fun.
Here is how the Northern branch celebrated.
And in the upper left corner you see the cute mushroom teapot that Trevor and Nell gave me.
I don't see much of a change in the AI version.
Dad headed up to Trevor's to watch the Pop Tart Bowl game, between BYU and Georgia Tech in Orlando. I meanwhile spent four hours pricing and putting out product at Treasures. Good times.
Rosie and Van.
And what else would you eat while watching such a game. They won by 4 points, a very entertaining game by Dad's report.
Spencer brought his new car ....
It distributes the kids a little better than being all tightly together in a single row of three.
Room for all.
Today at Church today, Dad got to meet the father of a gal in the new ward, when they blessed their baby today, he served in Finland too. His name is Shumway, and he served six years after Dad, so in about 1978-1979
