When Everyone Else is doing Cooler Things Than you.

It was a full week, but not so much for us as those around us, who did some pretty cool stuff.
It started with my friend Kim, in the carrot shirt, who was on Studio 5 for the second time in two months.

Ryan Moe revisited his mission area in Japan with his wife, his folks, his sister Kylie and her boyfriend, Brittany Gearheart Friebes and her husband and the Terenovas.

Here Tia, Ryan's wife.

Ryan and Tia.

And after seeing all those temples in Japan, I thought I'd share a post with a temple in it.  This young sister missionary from and serving in the Philippines, finished her mission recently. We are grateful for the time we got to follow her activities, and are praying that she will be equal to the tasks she is now taking on in her life.

We did get out to Mosida for a planning meeting on Monday.

So fun.

Dad got everyone to play relatives around me, which we always enjoy.
Elder Childs and Dad are 3rd cousins!

On Tuesday morning our apartment renter, Lily, saw these deer out in front of our garden house on her way to work.  How fun is that?

Later that day Dad took down the old light fixture in the Princess Room.

and put up the one we repaired last week.
On Wednesday Dad got a lot of the flooring in the kitchen done at Darby's and

she started working on the cabinet finish.

At work that day, I brought together some of my transferware into one area.
Thursday saw me back at work, and Dad back at the temple.
Camping baby

Another Grandson U fan, right J. Scott?

Bekie owning nature

Then for the weekend, Emily and Sam, their kids and another family all took off for their Spring Break to the Shores of Lake Carlton in Oklahoma.
While I headed out early to an estate sale up in the hills of Provo on Friday, which was ridiculously priced. This carving, about the size of a small coconut, is $300.  Not sure what they were thinking.  They had a lot of prices like that. I got a pair of socks.
Then headed to DI in Provo for a bit, followed by Savers, then

The Planted Earth Antiques where I found this beautiful old 30s or 40s linoleum upstairs in the 1800's house that houses the shop.  I thought it was stunning.

Then Trader Joes ....

and finally The Grove Vintage where I tidied and added a few things.

Including a hanging sign I had made for the booth.  Several of the dealers have them also ...

That night we watched Davin and Bri's kids so they could go and see Brian Reagan.

The girls performed for us, playing the guitar, and dancing.

It was a lot of fun.

We even played some Zilch.

Here's Davin, Bri, Darby, Becca and Dallas at the venue.

They all had a great time.

But Hannah was having a greater time.  As we were posting on the family chat about a Green St. Patrick's dinner, Trevor and Nell were hosting, Hanna sent a few pictures of her and Scott in Ireland.  How cool is that.

and on another chat page, some of our missionaries showed a get together where they did Coed Saunaing.  Wow that's some size of sauna.

Its at someone's Grandma's Condo Village Health Center.

On Saturday I mainly read, while Dad went grocery shopping.
When he got home he suggested that we go to the Payson Community Play, You Can't Take It With You.   We loved the set.
Dad had seen the post on Perry Ewell's page.  You may recall that Perry and Carisa Ewell lived in the trailer park in the Orem ward.  They had one baby while they lived there, and her name was Emma.  Well here she is, all growed up and married and looking for all the world just like her mama.

More cast members.

The stars of the show.

Today Trevor got to work on making his corned beef and cabbage for the St Patrick's dinner he and Nell had planned to host at their house.

He does beautiful work. don't you think?

But by mid afternoon, they knew they couldn't host, because poor Penny was feeling poorly, in a way that one worries about making others sick.

So he called and asked if we could host.

Its hard to tell, but by the time Davin and Bri's family got here, there was a rainbow fading on the wall, but it was much brighter than you see here.  We thought it was the perfect setting for McKenna's rainbow dress. It was just perfect for our celebration.

I tried to brighten it up for a picture of our teenagers, but the color is just funny, still how cute are these kids?
Father son (in-law) bonding time.

and a precious baby on a bench.

and Van fell asleep on their long drive down again, just as he did at our last time we got together.
Fortunately he woke up enough to join in the fun.

here's the big people.

And someone's plate of green food.  We had raw green veggies, with green dip, green mashed potatoes, green drinks, green rolls, green Jello and green cooked cabbage, and corned beef of course.  There was also yummy Rice Crispy type bars made with Lucky Charms, how lucky are we?
While we had Spencer and Brit there I wrapped up service for 8 of our old Christmas dishes.  Dad hauled them upstairs after the big storage room sorting, to sell on line.  Spencer saw them and asked what I was doing with them.  I told him that since I have new Christmas dishes I love, I was getting rid of them.  He said Brit had wanted some Christmas Village dishes, and Voila!! These are the one's we used every Christmas when he was growing up, and I am just thrilled that they want them.

Sweet Cousin time.

And in the interest of St. Patty's and rainbows etc, I thought I'd share Charley's latest product.  Pretty cute eh?

So essentially we had a pretty slow, and laid back week.  But we did enjoy seeing friends and family doing all kinds of interesting things.
