Old Friends and the Dragon

On Monday I had a dentist appointment and Dad came with me, then he dropped me off at DI in Provo, while he ran up to Orem to pay for the repairs on Ben's car.  I ran into Cheryl Moulton, who I grew up with in Bountiful.  It was old home week, catching up on all the news.
Next we got some Cafe Rio in Spanish Fork, where I always think of Ben, because he and Hannah took us to dinner at this particular restaurant for Mother's Day last May. Oh how I love and miss that boy/man.

Then I ran into Lyn Wright at the DI in AF, while we were killing time waiting, to go to Eva's play.  Guess it was a good day for old friends.

At the magic moment we went to Eva's elementary school in Pleasant Grove.  She played Mushu to her best friend's Mulan.  Aren't they so cute?
Look whose came to cheer her on?

A parent made her costume, including this strand of dragon points, which Nell cleverly braided into her hair.

Here she is in full regalia.

 Friends and family are gathered.
Eva did a great job, she really stole the show.

Here are flowers from her parents and a Mushu Funko Pop Booble Head too.

Here are the stars.

Afterward we went to Trevor and Nell's and got to join them as they did their Come Follow Me study group.

It was great fun.

Scott's having a good time.

Penny was super cute leading the closing song.

On Tuesday Liisa and Jason Grant came for a visit and some lunch.  They are in town from Finland to see their daughter who lives here, in fact she used to be in Spencer and Brit's ward, and Brittney ministered to her.

Here we are up on the balcony, the Grants are some of our favorite Finns.  He's actually Swedish, so he taught the English Sunday school class, and being a former Bishop, he did an amazing job. Those of you who have followed the blog for a long time, may remember the man from Brooklyn who came to visit his son, and took the discussions while there.  He later came back and was baptized by his son, Jason, with his two other sons who still live in Sweden, there to participate. (Jason's Dad Bill's wife joined the church after their divorce when she came back to Sweden to live, with her three young sons.)

Then we took them over to see the Payson Temple.

That night we headed back  to see Eva's play again, and look at all the other people who love Eva and who came to cheer her on.

Cousins

Still more of the crew.

So many aunts and uncles and cousins to celebrate Eva's stellar performance.

Afterward we all reassembled at the JCWs in AF.

Not sure how Van slept through all the Perkins shenanigans.

 We love you Eva!
On Wednesday it was back to the weekly grind.  Back at work I set up a basket of wood goodies, to go with my white ironstone.

Then Hannah came by to bring the title to Ben's car, so that Brittany could stop on the way back from their California trip to pick up the car.  Yeah Kai, its a great looking car, and you get the fun memories of Ben that go with it.  I admit, I'm a little jealous.

After work Dad went off to his chorus practice and I headed to our first Young Women's camp clinic of the year.  Hey Eva, do you remember your friend Brooklyn?

Here are Bonnie, Becky and Becky, our Camp Director, who used to be friends with our Becca in Junior High.

They were making positive sticky notes to be used at camp.
Back at work on Thursday and I'm putting more energy into my transferware display, as I add the two little green custard cups on the top shelf.  I'm still running into transferware in other booths.

After work I headed to the church for a Relief Society Social. Leah is on the right, she was also a good friend of Becca's at school.  Now Becca is selling Leah's house, which I thought was nice, but we are all sad to lose her, she is much loved.

A third girl who went to school with Becca on the left here.  Also a very bad picture of Danette Otteson, hopefully she'll never see it, right?  She is the mother of two of the girls in our Young Women's group.

Last of all there is me with Ingrid Moyar, our Family History Consultant.

Our Stake President was our speaker.

After Relief Society I headed up to Book Club at Susan's house. This is Ann, Susan and Sandy.

Carolyn is on the right here.

On Friday we headed to Salt Lake where Dad dropped me off at DI, before heading to Spencer and Brit's where he and Spencer loaded the van with a load for the dump.  That night we drove back to Salt Lake to see the play 'Steel Magnolas', where Dad ran into a  Barbershopper, Roger Motscus.  That's kind of funny because the last time we attended a play in this theater we ran into Wes Brown who talked him into going back to the chorus. Too Fun. Now we're wondering who we'll see next time.

Emily sent us this picture on Friday showing William with his Soldier face on, along with the soldier outfit she picked out for him with the money I sent her for his Birthday.  Happy birthday to the last of the three 6 years olds for the year.

On Saturday we were up early, so that we were ready to go when Randy and Barb stopped to pick us up to head to Las Vegas, where we would fly to Hawaii, Kauai to be exact, for a week of fun and excitement. I'll be back next week with with pictures and stories from Hawaii.
