On Monday Rebecca Peery came over with the other two paintings she had framed for me. Aren't they all lovely?
I sent her home with this picture of the Finnish Temple, I thought we really do need a painting of it for our Temple room. She not sure she can finish the commission before we leave, but we can always hope. We've just had this framed picture.
On Tuesday Alysa and I had lunch at the cottage cafe, on site at The Hill. We went to DI, then Ross, then Home Goods. After I dropped her off on the Hill, I stopped at the Grove to get my last check. See how cute this cupboard of spools of ribbon looks that Jenn just brought in.
On Wednesday it was the 8th anniversary of Ben's death. Trevor posted the slide presentation that he made for Ben's funeral on our family page, so Dad and I put it on the TV in our room and shed some tears. He is so missed, but we're also confident he is in a good place in his existence. We all love him so much. As you see Trevor went to spend a moment in the Springville Cemetery to think about Ben.
I worked Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Here are some pictures. This gal found a Hummel Plate of the figurine she already had in her cart. Whoa.
This gal bought this Jack-a-lope, probably the first we have ever had in the store and went next door to the other Treasures Store to see if she could find another one of less. She was so pleased.
This customer, who is older than I am, brought in this doll and told us that her grandmother had it as a child. We were shocked, because the doll was hand painted, probably a ceramics shop craft, and could not have been older than maybe the 1980's. She continued to insist. Her grandmother would have been a child in 1900.
I had a sweet customer call be on Wednesday to say she had talked to me about some pink Depression Glass she wasn't to get rid of a couple of years ago. She still had my note after 2 years and said I was so nice that she was just going to give it to me. Here it is, mostly on the top shelf.
Dad meanwhile spent almost 2 entire days working on getting the paperwork in for our visas. Pretty exhausting stuff, and I am so grateful that he is willing to do it in my behalf. He also mowed the lawn, took a load to DI, started working on the memory wall, and spent 2 shifts working at the temple.
Spencer and Brittney's family left to drive cross country to their new home in Boston on Friday. Here they stop for ice-cream.
Eva left for the field on Wednesday and meets her companion.
And her Mission Presidents
This morning we drove to SLC to hear Phil's son Harrison's Mission farewell. As it turns out our friends the Smith's grandson Nathan Huegly was also having his farewell in the same ward. Small wonders! Here are Eliisa Smith, her grandson, Richard Smith, Leena Peckham and Eliisa Heugly. (The Smiths were the other senior couple who stayed in Finland after the other senior couples in Finland were sent home. They stayed because she is Finnish and they own her childhood home, so they went there to weather the covid storm. We played games on facetime and then visited each other as the restrictions were slowly lifted.)
Here we are afterwards at Phil and Nicoles home. Here we see Bruce visiting, as Andrew's son looks on.
This picture is to show the bright halo shooting from this fine missionary's head.

Trevor shared this picture of Eva with a man who has followed him on Facebook for years. It looks like he was watching for Eva at church today!!
Since we were in SLC, we headed out to Tooele, where Joyce is living in an assisted living place, for a month, while she has some physical therapy to get ready to go home.
We had a nice visit, and I showed her the pictures from the farewell, she said Ryan is looking amazing. (Which is true) Ryan had a serious heart episode in the spring and is coming back from it. He said that his pace-maker thing, has the brains to shock his heart if certain threatening signs are measured. That's just amazing to me.
And here is Spencer's family on the Maid of the Mist, a boat that floats around near were the Niagara Falls crash down into the river.
So fun.
